Changing Home Trends

home trend accent wall
These days home trends are constantly and rapidly changing. For a long time neutral colours have dominated the home. Usually, modern homes are showered with wall colours such as white, beige, grey, and cream. Although it may make the home look sophisticated, it's been overdone. With many people being indoors due to the pandemic, paint colours in earth tones such as brown, orange, red and yellows have made a come back.

Cleaning and Clearing Out Clutter to Rejuvenate Our Space

spring cleaning clorox means clean
Spring time when new life literally emerges, is also a time for us to rejuvenate our space and feel fresh! I love taking the time to do a deep clean in every nook and cranny in our home and toss away, donate, as well as repurpose our belongings. During this process, we always find inspiration to start new projects; most of which better utilizes the space and makes it more functional.

Improving Curb Appeal with Renfrew Blue Fusion

Renfrew Blue Fusion paint door
We have a four panel steel door for our main entrance. Although it was already primed when we purchased it, it had never been painted over. Since the door was off colour and looked dull we decided to give it a fresh coat of paint. We decided on using the beautiful green-blue shade of Renfrew Blue Fusion paint for the outer part of our front door to enhance the curb appeal.

Glass Paint Container

glass paint decor container
I chose is hexagon shaped glass for this project, so it took me a few days to complete it. I had to wait for each side to dry, to avoid the paint from running off. I like how the design and the colours turned out.

Completed Bathroom Renovation #BathroomReno

bathroom renovation
We have been busy taking on a DIY bathroom project, which has been long, but fun and satisfying. We wanted our bathroom to be functional and fit for everyone in the family, so when we designed it we had a universal design in mind. This allowed us to make the space functional and safe without compromising style and character.

Building our own rolling DIY Door and Organizing with Rev-a-shelf

building a rolling barn door DIY
We love the concept of barn doors, rolling door, and pocket doors because they are neat and trendy! We were so excited that we were able to include a sliding door in our #BathroomReno project. We had a closet outside the washroom, where we keep our linen. To access this closet we needed to come out of the washroom, which was not convenient. When we were planning our renovation, we decided to bring the closet inside the bathroom, which would allow us to have more space and use it functionally.

OXO Essentials In Our Bathroom

OXO bathroom sink grip
Couple of years ago we added a shower stall for a bathroom in our home, and we find having a shower stall is more useful for our family. We built a barrier that gives us the option of being able to fill the shower stall with water. I found this OXO 5" silicone tub stopper allows us to effectively seal the drain to fill the shower stall with water if we want. The suction cup secures the stopper to the floor when we use it. I like that when we are not using the stopper, we can use the suction cup to store it upright.

Decoupage Vase and Using Stencils on Fabric

stencil book
I enjoy looking through, and being inspired by a couple of Amy Butler's books. The Stencils book has beautiful fresh, decorative patterns that we can use for many of our decor projects. The 14 die-cut stencil designs in this kit comes with an inspiring book that has colourful projects.

Organizing with Kilner

The original Kilner jar invented by John Kilner and Co in the 1840's has stood the test of time for over 150 years. Although, the design has been updated, they have kept the unique vacuum feature that helps keep our blends, preserves, and pickles fresh. I find the Kilner jars can be used in lots of different ways, not just to store preserves and pickles. I used a variety of different sized Kilner Jars to organize my kitchen pantry.

Metallic Tape Marker Holder

I love using tape for crafts because we can easily transform anything that is plain and simple to something spectacular. I love this glittery new metallic tape. There are so many ways we can use this tape from decorating gifts to personalizing, or using for home décor.
