How to Sew Arm Sleeves for Gardening and Driving

arm sleeves
This simple garden sleeves are easy to sew for beginners. You don't really need a pattern, and you can use any type of soft comfortable material you have. It is cheap to make these at home using either leftover material from other projects or upcycle a long sleeve polyester or spandex shirt. This project can be completed within 15 minutes. These sleeves are useful when working in the garden to keep arms from getting sunburnt when we wear short sleeves summer clothing.

Gardening in Small Spaces and Giveaway

vegetable growing seeds
Gardening is one of our favourite hobbies. In the past years, we have passionately done a variety of DIY projects and improved our gardening to become a backyard oasis. We have built a variety of different gardening structures, put in a pond with aquatic plants, made spaces for birds, planted fruit trees, invested in different types of perennials over the years, and more. When it comes to growing vegetables, we usually buy transplants from garden centres and put in a few seeds directly in the garden.

Keeping the Garden Neat And Tidy

createwithmom garden
Sit back, relax and enjoy your corner of green paradise: this is the dream of every garden owner when summer arrives. But it's not that simple, because grass always grows back too quickly and the rain allows the bushes to overgrow in abundance. It is all the more important to prune regularly so that the native plants retain their shape. It is also important to keep your garden free from unwanted critters and creatures as they too can damage and destroy wildlife. For example, you may want to look at skunks removal! We have a skunk that is too curious with our pond, and often removes things from it. We do try to prevent it from destroying the pond area by covering the pond every night with a mesh.

Attracting bees to the garden with these DIY bee hotels

bee hotel
Over the years, we have made our garden pollinator friendly by adding a variety of features! It is exciting to watch these homes and places being utilized by benefiting creatures. We have also seen the benefits of these features as they have encouraged different types of bees to come into the garden and help pollinate flowers - especially in our vegetable garden.
The bee hotels we placed in our garden were made in a post or block style, and painted with acrylic paint for aesthetics. We leave these homes all year round in the garden.

Learning Correct Methods of Pruning and Training

pruning and training
Plants require a little more T.L.C. than the removal of dead, diseased and damaged wood to be in good health. Pruning and training a plant correctly helps keep it healthy and eliminate problems such as structural weakness and disease.
