The Dewalt DCP580B 20V Max Brushless Planer #DIY tool

Dewalt Max Brushless Planer
We do a lot of DIY projects using wood and have a decent collection of tools to get the job done. The latest addition to our tools is the Dewalt DCP580B 20V Max Brushless planer. A planer is a really useful tool to have, as it has lots of varying uses. The DEWALT DCP580B 20V Max Brushless planer we are using is the cordless version, and it comes as a bare tool without any batteries. Since, most of our power tools are Dewalt we already have batteries to go with them. It is always best to use 3 Ah batteries or greater, so there is enough power to get the job done.

Improving Curb Appeal with Renfrew Blue Fusion

Renfrew Blue Fusion paint door
We have a four panel steel door for our main entrance. Although it was already primed when we purchased it, it had never been painted over. Since the door was off colour and looked dull we decided to give it a fresh coat of paint. We decided on using the beautiful green-blue shade of Renfrew Blue Fusion paint for the outer part of our front door to enhance the curb appeal.

Building our own rolling DIY Door and Organizing with Rev-a-shelf

building a rolling barn door DIY
We love the concept of barn doors, rolling door, and pocket doors because they are neat and trendy! We were so excited that we were able to include a sliding door in our #BathroomReno project. We had a closet outside the washroom, where we keep our linen. To access this closet we needed to come out of the washroom, which was not convenient. When we were planning our renovation, we decided to bring the closet inside the bathroom, which would allow us to have more space and use it functionally.

Adding Style and Sophistication with Delta Dryden #BathroomReno

delta dryden collection
For our recent bathroom renovation project, we used Delta products because of our positive past experience with their bathroom and kitchen products. I like the spectrum of finishes and styles Delta has. I think the choice of what finish and style we choose to add, changes the feel of our space.

Building a Custom Vanity #BathroomReno DIY

DIY custom vanity
In our #BathroomReno we decided to build our own custom vanity to fit our need and space. Instead of spending money for a ready-made vanity that restricts what we want in our vanity, our decision to build one allowed us to add a variety of features we wanted.

Organizing using Chalkboard Tape

chalkboard tape
I enjoyed using removable chalkboard tape and organizing. This is an easy and practical way to organize anything we want. I usually use this drawer to put different things, so I like having this removable chalkboard tape on the drawers. This allows me to write what is inside the drawers, erase and rewrite when I change the content.

Automate Your Home with WeMo

I have heard about the terms "Internet of Things" and Home Automation, but never expected to try them out myself so soon. What if all the gadgets in your home can connect to the Internet and be controlled by you with the help of your smartphone or tablet? Sounds a bit scary but with the popularity of the Internet, smartphones, and in home Wi-Fi the future is headed in that direction. I have been wanting to find out how home automation can benefit us with the simple things that we use day-to-day and improve our lifestyle.

Using Washi Tape as Frames

We recently painted our children's room, and to personalize the space we wanted to display art work that my children did on the wall. I used Washi tape to frame around the canvas. This way we can remove and switch the painting as we want and update the wall display without a hassle.

Our Cabinet Transformation Using Rust-Oleum

kitchen renovation
After transforming the cabinets with Rust-Oleum
We have used Rust-Oleum about three years ago to transform our front porch, and love the results. Due to our trust in their products my husband and I undertook a DIY project during the holidays using the Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformation kit. Using this kit to transform the kitchen cupboards to our preferred colour is less costly compared to changing the entire cupboards or doing messy demolitions.
