It is pumpkin season and we love it! It is one of our favourite harvests of the season. We usually enjoy it by making a savoury side dish, making soup with it, and baking whoopie pies and buns with it. This year my children got busy scooping out the seeds that we turned into a delicious snack to enjoy when watching Netflix.

I recently came across Riviera Petit Pot and enjoyed tasting the quality and flavour of their products like butter, yogurt, and crème fraîche. My family and I really enjoyed spreading Hershey's Reese Peanut Butter Chocolate spread, and making these sandwich shell cookies. To make these soft cake like cookies you will need to follow my Madeleine recipe below. This spread has a salty, sweet, chocolate, and peanut butter flavour that goes well with these soft sandwich cookies. We like having these sandwich shell cookies, as snack and dessert.

This Ice Cream Bar my family and I enjoyed is a sponsored post for #CollectiveBias using ingredients I purchased at Walmart. In my family ice cream is associated with warm sunny days! Although, we enjoy licking our ice cream on a cone we always lean more towards having ice cream with other desserts. Every time I make our favourite pineapple upside down cake, apple pie, fruit salad, or a milk drink with rose syrup known as Falooda, a tub of ice cream disappears in no time at all.

I made our favourite banana bread, with an addition of sweetened desiccated coconut and chocolate chips in this Trudeau's structure loaf pan. This structure loaf pan is perfect to make bread cakes and meat loaves. Although, making this banana bread recipe in a loaf pan takes a little longer about 30 minutes, than if I were to make it in a muffin pan, I like that using this structure loaf pan cooks the cake evenly and releases the cake easily. I don't have to put parchment paper when I use this loaf pan.

This is the time of the year most of us are relaxing outdoors and are looking for easy, but healthy recipes to make for our family and friends. Since fresh berries are in season I like to include it into my dessert, as it is a good way to make sure we are eating nutritious food. The weather is becoming warmer, and we are happy to feel and see the sunshine :) The warm temperatures make the bananas I buy ripe very fast, and I like this as I can use the ripe bananas in desserts and snacks. To celebrate the blue skies, fresh air, spring birds and blooms, I can't think of any other dessert but muffins with bananas and walnuts in it. With the long weekend coming soon, these easy to make, quick muffins would be wonderful to make a day ahead and take with us on a picnic or a road trip. These muffins taste even more special with a spread of Gay Lea Spreadables.

When I was growing up my family taught me to value many things like loyalty, honesty, generosity and hard work. I pass this onto my children by teaching them how to live by these values everyday, so they can pass it on to future generations. These family values make who we are, and makes us appreciate life and all that it offers. When I consider what to buy or things we use as a family on a regular basis, I like to choose products that stand behind values and quality.

My family and I excited about the upcoming March Break next week. It is a much needed time-off from school and the routine during this long winter season. I just wish we will have some good weather :)
During school holidays I like to make and keep snacks like healthy muffins, so my family and I can have it for brunch, breakfast, snacks or take with us when we travel to see attractions. This Carrot, Coconut, Apple Muffins recipe from the Model Bakery cookbook makes about 20 muffins. The muffins can be baked and stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day.

For my son's birthday, I made a Pirate ship and an Island. For the base of the pirate ship, I used the recipe from here and decorated the cake with buttercream icing and whipped frosting.

This cheesecake made with yogurt is flavourful and delicious, it would be a delightful treat to take over to a potluck. We can bake it a day ahead and keep it ready to go in the fridge. Keeping it overnight in the fridge makes it more delicious. I used a Cake Stencil to turn this simple cheesecake more presentable.
