Little Women at Stratford Festival

stratford city hall
This iconic city hall is a national historic site located in the centre of Stratford, Ontario; a charming small town well-known for its theatre, art, and music. We love visiting Stratford, which is a couple of hours from the GTA to watch outstanding theatrical performances at Stratford Festival. We enjoy walking along the river and surrounding area to admire the beautiful gardens and the overall atmosphere, as well as exploring businesses and restaurants in downtown Stratford.

Our Camping Adventure at Earl Rowe Provincial Park

earl rowe provincial park
One thing we love doing in the summer is camping at Ontario Parks. After a couple of years of pausing all travel plans due to the pandemic, we were super-excited to get back into some of our favourite things to do. With both our children being teenagers now and having their own schedule of activities to do, timing adventures become difficult. Planning a quick camping trip less than a couple of hours from home was fun and exciting for all of us. Thankfully, a camping trip has a lot of engaging and exciting activities for everyone in our family. We believe camping is a good way to connect with nature, which is great for our physical and mental health - and most importantly great for creating family memories!

How Important is French When Travelling To Canada

quebec city bus tour
Although French is one of the official languages in Canada, most recent statistics suggest that 22.8% of the population speak French as their first language, while many others speak it as their second one. If you are planning to travel to Canada, you may wonder if you need to get your French phrasebook out, or if you can get by with just English.

Cirque du Soleil: Crystal in St. Catharines, Ontario

cirque du soleil crystal
We started our long weekend with a road trip to St. Catharines, Ontario to watch Cirque du Soleil: Crystal at the Meridian Centre. St. Catharines is the only Canadian stop on the North American tour for Crystal, a breathtaking acrobatic show on ice that is happening from June 30th to July 3, 2022. WOW! should sum up this show.

Outdoors @ the Shaw Shawground Experience

shawgrounds
This summer, we enjoyed the interactive experience of Outdoors @ The Shaw! It was a fun and unique experience, different from the past theatre experiences we have had at Shaw Festival theatre as it was set outdoors without the lights and costumes. The beautiful afternoon we spent at the lush grounds of the Festival Theatre in Niagara-on-the-lake while immersing ourselves in the Shavian affair was a memorable one!

Road Trip to Stratford

stratford city hall national historic site
Stratford Ontario, a quaint little town couple of hours from Toronto, is perfect for a weekend getaway or an impromptu road trip. Theatre is what has always attracted us to Stratford, but once you are there the serene atmosphere by the river, beautiful gardens, and all the little retail shops and restaurants around town will surely keep everyone in the family busy.

fram cabin air filter canadian tire

Having clean air to breathe in our car is as important as clean air in our home. A lot of people take this for granted and you will be surprised how dirty the air is inside our cars if we fail to change the cabin air filter in our vehicles. Since we will be spending a lot of time in our cars traveling this summer, it is vital to have clean fresh air inside the cabin.

How To Stay In The Loop When You Are Travelling

emirates
Although a big part of traveling is to get away from the everyday routine, it is important to try and stay involved and in the loop while away. Winter Adventure at Scenic Caves

Winter Adventure Scenic Caves
We had a fantastic time at Scenic Caves doing a variety of fun family friendly winter activities like snowshoeing to the Suspension Bridge, and learning and practicing to Cross-Country ski. Over the years we have learned to embrace winter by learning new sports and activities, so we can look forward to enjoy the long winters. Scenic Caves located in Collingwood, a couple of hours from Toronto, is a wonderful place to try these winter activities. We like that they have different trails giving us the option to choose depending on trail distance and skill. There is still a few more weeks to enjoy these sports before the season comes to an end - see their website for details.

Learning the origins of board games, illusions, journey, and math

board games book
We love playing board games and have a few family favourites. As children, we have played lots of different board games from monopoly to mancala, and made sure to introduce our children to board games at a very young age. A few years ago, we made a wooden convertible storage cart just to keep our games. We believe most board games are a wonderful way to socialize and connect, and they have become part of our lifestyle. Over the past decade, we have documented a few board games on CreateWithMom. When we saw the Board Games in 100 Moves by Ian Livingstone, we were curious to discover different board games and their origins.
