Tips to Consider When Shopping For Summer Outfits

summer vacation
With the past few weeks being extremely cold, we can't help but dream of some warm weather to soak in some sunshine. During the past couple of years the pandemic has disrupted our summer plans as we spent most of our days lounging. To get our minds off of feeling down, we are thinking of different things we can do in the summer, including our summer outfits.

Here are some ideas to get you started if you are looking for inspiration to refresh your wardrobe - a less is more approach to get the desired aesthetic while feeling and looking fashionable.

Relaxed shapes and silhouettes
Keeping cool is a key summer wardrobe requirement. Choosing looser clothing like dresses with tiers, floaty skirts, and breezy sleeves will help to keep cool in the summer while looking and feeling fashionable. A loose kaftan is a summer wardrobe essential that can be worn casually.

For the summer, two loose-fitting designs are proving to be particularly popular. The A-Line is especially good for those who are self-conscious about their hips because it draws attention to the top half of the body rather than the bottom half of the body. The shift is another popular on-trend form this season, the clothes go straight from the shoulders and usually end at the knees. This flowy, loose shape provides plenty of breathing room and when matched with the right accessories it can be worn anywhere from school runs to business lunches.

Breathable fabrics
Fabric that is breathable made with natural materials should be a requirement when shopping for summer clothing. One of the most obvious summer wardrobe must-haves is cotton, and the highly on-trend linen is also a go-to fabric for the season.

As a natural fiber, cotton promotes circulation and the movement of air throughout the cloth. Cotton and linen are similar as they allow air to flow readily between fibers, allowing the fabric and the skin to breathe more easily while helping the body stay cool.

Colour
When it comes to summer fashion, colour is always a must. You do not have to go all out with big bright colour blocks, but subtle dashes of colour in plus size graphic tees can help create that laid-back summer appearance. Even with light tone outfits, we can add pops of colour with accessories.
