Healthy School and After-School Snacks and Giveaway

I always plan on what healthy school snacks I can prepare at home, and keep it ready for my children to enjoy after school. I also try to make sure the snacks they have are nutritious. Although, I love to make a different snack everyday, our on-the-go schedules don't give me time for this. On these days, I love the convenience of having delicious Hans Dairy snacks in the fridge. The Indian style rice pudding, lassi, and yogurt from Hans Dairy is one of our favourites; we can enjoy as is or by adding fresh fruits and berries.

It is very important for children and adults alike to setup a separate space to either do homework or office work without distractions. We have a dedicated room to study, work, and practice our creative flow. We spruced up our creative corner by adding a couple of office and school furniture from Canadian Tire. We have been busy travelling and enjoying the warm weather, which has made it hard to come to terms with reality - school will be starting in a couple of weeks! With shopping malls becoming busy for back to school shopping, we find the most convenient way to shop is online at Amazon.ca.

This is the time of the year, we shop for the latest trends, colours, and styles of clothing for our children. Before a new school year starts, we go through our children's closet to get rid of clothes that no longer fit them, and shop for outfits that they will enjoy wearing to school especially as the weather becomes cooler. We like shopping at Sears Canada for children's clothes because they have a wide selection of their own private label styles at reasonable prices.

I can't believe how quickly summer holidays are passing by, soon it will be time for us to start our back to school routines. Here are a few items that will come in handy for families during the school year.

During the summer months, our minds are in one gear to travel and explore! When travelling with young children we have found being prepared makes life on the road much easier. Even when our children were babies, we always travelled with toys that entertained them such as rattles and plush books. I remember, we had memorized the words on these books as we had read it to them multiple times until one day they were ready to read it back to us.

We love DK Eyewitness books, as they are a wealth of knowledge. This series of books are good educational resources. It comes in handy when doing homework, research projects, improving reading of reluctant readers and English as a Second Language students. School will be out in a few weeks! During the summer vacations we are planning to relax, spend time camping, and going on road trips. However, these will not fill all the summer days. My children are excited about returning to TAC Summer Camp where they get to play, learn, make memories and have fun with children in the same age groups.

Trolls Movie Inspired Crafts

Trolls, a wonderful family movie to cozy up and watch together is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. This movie will have everyone in the family laughing and crying, as we watch Poppy and Branch work together to rescue their friends from the Bergens. It is a movie that kept us on the edge of our seats with its adventure, and the animated songs definitely made us move. I like how the movie encourages the importance of finding inner happiness and reminds us to be happy with who we are.
