We have been learning a lot of facts about influential people from the past that still impact our lives from a variety of DK books: The 100 women who made history, Explorers, and books from the DK Life Stories series. These books deliver the facts in a fun manner using colourful images to keep the readers engaged.

Painted Bird House

We find that it is fun to add our unique touches to home decor pieces. The process and the final results of these conversational pieces always excite us, and give a feeling of satisfaction. This summer we decided to add a couple of bird houses that we made to the garden, as we had a variety of different birds that come to the bird feeder. 

End of Summer Reads

We have been reading the pioneering and groundbreaking work of the narrative nonfiction The Mosquito by Timothy C. Winegard that offers a dramatic new perspective on the history of humankind, showing how through millennia, the mosquito has been the single most powerful force in determining humanity's fate.

Ontario Parks we explored this summer

We enjoy spending most of our time outdoors in the summer, visiting different Ontario Parks during our road trips have become a tradition. Having an annual park pass helps to stop by at different parks! Here are a few of the Ontario Parks we explored this summer in the Kawartha, Ottawa Valley, and Sudbury regions: Bon Echo, Petroglyphs, Silent Lake, Frontenac, Windy Lake, French River, and Samuel de Champlain provincial parks.  

DecoArt Pouring Medium on Ceramic Tiles

Recently, we experimented using DecoArt Pouring Medium. We tried the pouring medium method in different ways on a variety of surfaces such as canvas, ceramic tiles, and rocks. This pouring medium increases the fluidity of acrylic paint, making it easy and fun for pouring art. 

Frying Sweets and Savouries in the Hamilton Beach Professional Style Deep Fryer

We prefer to prepare most of our meals at home. When we make deep fried food at home, we feel more at ease knowing that the oil is clean. Although, we like making different types of fried food such as fried sweets and savouries, we are not fans of oil splattering. We usually avoid deep frying until we started using Hamilton Beach's deep fryer.

Getting Ready for a New School Year

Having books to refer to for school projects, the curriculum, and hard to grasp ideas will help ease some difficulties we may face in the school year. We have been checking out couple of books from DK Smithsonian, a year by year guide about History and Science, as well as three books from the Help Your Kids series; Geography, Music, and Computer Coding.

Instead, Mazda has added more power, tech, and subtle tweaks to the exterior design to keep this popular mid-sized family sedan in check with the competition.

Our Stay and Other Attractions in Sudbury

During our visit to Sudbury we stayed at Hampton Inn, visited the Science North, Dynamic Earth, and explored other attractions such as parks and lookouts around the area.
