Learning about Wendat and Jesuits at Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons

Wendat and Jesuits at Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons
This summer when we visited Wendake in Quebec, we learned about the Huron Wendat people and how their lifestyle and lives changed after making contact with the French Jesuits in the 1600s. Our curiosity led us to Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons in Ontario.

Sightseeing in Québec City

quebec city auberge saint antoine
We wanted to visit Québec City for a while, and was finally able to do this during our road trip from Ontario to New Brunswick. Québec City is located on the north bank of the Saint Lawrence River and offers unspoiled views of the Laurentian Mountains. It has been designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. During our visit, we had the pleasure of spending a night at Auberge Saint-Antoine, and checking out different places in Québec City on a bus tour of the city.

Hôtel-Musée Premières Nations

Hôtel-Musée Premières Nations
After our visit to the Huron Traditional Site, we checked into Hôtel-Musée Premières Nations in Wendake, Québec. This beautiful boutique hotel built in 2008 is inspired by First Nations' culture and the relations they share with the rest of the world: nature, spirituality, and mythology.

Pointe-à-Callière Montreal Museum of Archaeology and History

There are so many places to see within downtown Montreal, and I am glad we went to check out the Pointe-à-Callière Montreal Museum of Archaeology and History that had the temporary exhibit of the epic journey of Marco Polo, as well as many fun permanent exhibits. It was fun for us to learn and see how the archaeologist go deep underground.

View of Montreal from Mount Royal

One of our favourite moments in Montreal was going to Mont Royal and seeing all of Montreal from the top. I really respect the choice the government has made to ensure that Mount Royal stays the tallest and looks upon the city. This lookout is a must see when you visit Montreal.

Exploring and Enjoying Downtown Montreal

This summer my family and I enjoyed exploring Montreal, Quebec. Our drive to Montreal was about 5 hours from Toronto with a few stopovers at ONroute locations. We stayed over at the largest hotel in the province of Quebec, Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth in Montreal. The Canadian National Railway built this downtown hotel in the 1950s.

Disney Frozen will be out on blu-ray combo pack

My family and I had an awesome time watching Disney Frozen during the December holidays, when we all felt "frozen" because of the ice storm. Here is our thoughts about the movie. We enjoyed watching the movie again at home, and had lots of fun. This a movie that can be watched over and over again. You can own a copy of the movie when it releases on Blu-ray combo pack on March 18th.
