Counting Down the Year in Streaming

As a member of the Netflix StreamTeam, my family and I are looking back and reflecting on our Netflix moments of this year. We have used Netflix shows to start conversationspersuade family and friends to watch what we like, and streamed smarter using Google.

Travelling Light with Netflix Download

We enjoy having the option of downloading Netflix shows, and taking it with us when we are on-the-go! It totally helps us pack light when travelling - no need to take along DVDs! The downloaded shows and movies from Netflix certainly came in very handy numerous times during our long road trips this summer.

Add Birthday Fun with Netflix Shows

I am familiar with the overwhelming feelings and pressure associated with planning parties, especially when it is for close family. Although over the years, I have learned our dear ones especially our children just want to feel special, and no matter what we do it will make them feel happy. My home baked cakes, and handmade cards were way more appreciated than anything store bought!

Taking Some Time Off for "Me Time"

netflix me time
No matter how busy we get, my husband and I give ourselves "me time". During these bits of time we make for ourselves, we not only do activities that are fun for us, but also take the time to catch up on our favourite Netflix shows and movies.

Branching Narrative Episodes on Netflix

Netflix launches the first "branching" narrative episode, Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale, in which the viewer gets to decide where to take the story next. Children have the opportunity to make choices and create non-linear adventures that will lead to two pre-determined main storylines. Buddy Thunderstruck (July 14) and Stretch Armstrong: The Breakout (next year) will be added to the "branching" narrative episodes.

Anytime is Prime Time

Netflix has changed the way we watch TV. As a child, my siblings and I had the habit of settling down to watch cartoons on Saturday mornings, or watching the Friday night movie that comes on TV.

Making Netflix Shows a Conversation Topic

As our children approach the phase of tweens and teens I feel we need common topics to connect and talk about with each other. Sometimes when we talk about shows, characters, and situations it opens a place for deep discussion where we can share thoughts and values.

Inspiring Our Children to Make a Positive Difference

As parents, we believe it is our duty to be good role models and inspire our sons and daughters to make a positive difference to society and the environment. Teaching that every little act makes a difference is becoming more and more important, especially in our fast-paced technology driven society. It is important that we take the time to slow down and see how we can benefit others, be more respectful, and conscientious.

Binge Watching Netflix Shows Guilt Free #ad

vegetable fritters
Have you ever cheated on your binge-partner after agreeing to watch the shows together? While we would not want to always admit, I am sure many of us have occasionally cheated and watched an episode, two or all of the shows without waiting for our binge-partner. This has definitely happened in our home between the adults and children on more than one occasion!

Shows We Plan to Watch on Netflix

netflix streamteam
We like shows that everyone in our family can enjoy watching together without feeling uncomfortable with the content that comes up. I am hoping Netflix will continue to update the selection with more nature shows, and movies and shows that we can watch, and learn about how wonderful our world is and about important things that could benefit us and those around us.

Bonding with Mom and Letters from Leading Female Roles from Netflix Originals

We are looking forward to watching Gilmore girls: A Year in the Life which will be available on Netflix November 25th. A recent Netflix Mother-Daughter Survey revealed more than half the women (53%) wish they spoke to their mother more often. The survey also revealed that more than half of mother-daughter duos surveyed (59%) report that post-show discussions are the best part of sharing a show together.

Celebrating the season with Pumpkin

pumpkin seeds
It is pumpkin season and we love it! It is one of our favourite harvests of the season. We usually enjoy it by making a savoury side dish, making soup with it, and baking whoopie pies and buns with it. This year my children got busy scooping out the seeds that we turned into a delicious snack to enjoy when watching Netflix.

Making Netflix Movie Nights a little more planned

movie night netflix
Getting used to the weekly routine of a hectic work week and school especially in September doesn't leave much time for entertainment. So getting some time to sit back and relax during the weekends is something that we look forward to. This is also the time to catch up on what is on Netflix.

Netflix is Celebrating Canada's Birthday all of July

Canadians across the country will be celebrating the nation's 149th birthday today. Many of us would be celebrating the day by being part of community events, enjoying a backyard BBQ, and getting together with family and friends to celebrate our beautiful country!

Shows on Netflix

Summer holidays are around the corner, which means with the longer days and later bedtimes there is more time for outdoor activities and time to take breaks with Netflix. The third season of All Hail King Julien has arrived on Netflix, which is one of our favourite shows to watch as a family.

Opening Conversation with Netflix

Talking to children about behaviour, expectations, and values after watching shows and movies on Netflix sometimes feels like a natural way to start conversation for my husband and I.

Shows Siblings Enjoy Watching

I believe that most times siblings can manage to get along. While growing up with my siblings it was sometimes hard to decide what we wanted to watch. I think our age and gender played a role in what we enjoyed watching. Looking at my children grow up, I see that it is not always easy for them to settle on which shows they want to watch together either.

LEGO Inspired Shows on Netflix

building with lego
My children are huge fans of LEGO since they were little. I love that LEGO allows them to imagine, be creative, build, and feel accomplished. My children started off with big bricks and LEGO Duplo when they were little, and now enjoy building with small bricks.
