Celebrating Cultural Heritages and Giveaway

anthology
There are different months dedicated to celebrate and raise awareness about different cultures and heritages in Canada. It is important for us to know about each other's heritage and hold on to ours. There is much value in learning this to become people who have empathy and kindness, which certainly is lacking with recent events we have seen around the world despite the global pandemic.

Novel, Poem and Practicing to Draw

drawing books
Finding inspiration from all around us isn't always easy. I am always grateful for anyone that inspires to see the beauty in little things, which sometimes gets lost between our everyday routines. This reminder to look beyond the surface of things was on a few books we looked at recently; poetry journal by Sabina Laura, the novel Misfit in love by S.K. Ali, and two drawing books from Step by Step Studio series.

Reasons to choose Moissanite over Diamond

Moissanite is the New Diamond
The ability of diamonds to stand the test of time is one of the many reasons these lustrous precious stones are highly cherished and valued. Their peculiar characteristics, most importantly their brilliant physical appearance have made them one of the most sought-after minerals produced by mother nature. Diamonds like other precious stones are widely utilized in engagement rings due to their exceptional strength and other unique properties. Diamonds are also used for several different things outside of the jewelry industry.

Quilling Technique Husking

quilling
Quilling is a fun hobby to do, I have used this paper craft method to do a lot of home decor and combined it with canvas painting. I also like using different quilling techniques to create intricate designs and gluing it on to handmade cards. This technique of husking can be used for large, unusual shapes, and can be done with or without a collar. Looping of the quilling paper around pins inserted into a cork, foam, or styrofoam board helps create the shapes we want.

lavender field
Over the past years, we have visited a couple of lavender farms in Ontario, which are costly and crowded especially when lavender plants are in full bloom. Since we didn't travel last summer, we had time to pay attention to the lavender plants we planted a couple of summers ago. We harvested the flowers, bundled, and dried it to make sachets and to make different desserts.
