We Had a Wild Day at #AfricanLionSafari + a chance for you to Win tickets and take your family

My family and I love going to the African Lion Safari located in Cambridge, Ontario. We think this is one of the best attractions in Ontario. I have been to African Lion Safari over a half-dozen times since I was little and enjoy it each time. I am thankful that we have always been able to make wonderful memories each time we watch the shows and visit the 9km of Safari trail.
Colonel G.D. Dailley who dreamed of creating a drive through Wildlife Park founded the safari. Since it started operating in 1969 the park has been helping to conserve declining wildlife species with its internationally recognized breeding programmes. The experience of visitors being “caged” while the animals roam freely is an unforgettable adventure for the whole family.
I believe this attraction creates a greater appreciation for the preservation and conservation of the natural environment. We can get closer than we ever imagined to see over 1000 exotic animals and birds without leaving Ontario.
While at the park we really enjoy watching the 20-minute shows.
~The Birds of Prey presents flying demonstration of owls, eagles and other birds.
~The Parrot Paradise show is very cute, as we get to see macaws and other cute birds in action.
~We enjoy the Elephant Round Up show as we can watch all the amazing things Asian elephants can do.
~The Elephant Swim excites everyone, as we get to see these wonderful big animals spraying water and having fun.
~The African Queen Boat Cruise is guided tour on Water Safari Lake, where we get to spot spider monkeys, storks, lemurs and more.
~We love going on the adventurous Nature Boy Scenic Railway that travels through the natural forest. We get excited each time we spot wild life such as turtles, reindeer and more.
We can take the educational guided Safari Bus Tour for a small fee or take our own vehicle and drive through at our own pace. We can go to the safari trail in our vehicle as many times we like. We can also choose to bypass some of the reserves if we wish.
The seven game reserves are
1. Nairobi Sanctuary - Has animals that are from Africa, Europe, South America and some that are native to Ontario.
East African Crowned Crane
Llama
Watusi
2. Simba Lion County is a 16-acre land that is home to a pride of 13 lions. We enjoyed watching the playful Keto, who was born last fall.
There have been 150 lions born at the park since 1969. In order to maintain genetic diversity the park works with other accredited zoological institutions where the lions are exchanged and sent.
3. Duma Cheetah Preserve
4. Wankie Brushland Trail has 13-acres of land where animals like the baboons, miniature zebu, and bongo antelope live.

My daughter's favourite animal
5. Rocky Ridge Veldt is 53-acres that imitate the Savannah Dessert and allows giraffes, zebras, rhinos, wildebeests to roam.
My son's favourite zebra
Ostrich
Barbary Sheep
White Rhinoceros

6. Euroasia has 47-aces of lush wetland and forest so Yak, Marchor, Red-necked Wallaby and Kangaroos can live.
7. The Americas have Bison, Fallow deer and Elk
My children love monkeying around in the Jungle Playground and spent a lot of time at the park.
We really enjoy the Pets Corner. Last time we went, my children enjoyed cuddling the baby goats.
This year many of the goats were pregnant, they look like they will be having babies soon.
If you go on a day from mid June to Labour day then the Misumu Bay Wet Play will be open, for kids to enjoy water play.
Discovery Centre is a fun place to learn more about the animals and birds.
We can easily spend a whole day at African Lion Safari, so plan a picnic or dine at the restaurants located inside the park. We really like the funnel cakes from the Funnel Cake Factory, as they make it fresh just the way we want.
We can also purchase souvenirs at the gift shops. I like the official guidebook that we can purchase, which has lots of details about the animals.
When at the safari be responsible, have fun, and adhere to the park rules by not getting off the vehicle or opening the windows to feed or tease the animals, so we can all enjoy this adventurous attractions for many years to come.
The park will be open till October 14th ~ Take your families to African Lion Safari and go wild.
