Flushability in Our Bathroom is Important to Us

toilet paper
Flushability is very important to my husband and I, as parents and home owners. We try to be eco-friendly as much as possible and have changed our toilets to make sure that it fits this criteria. What and how much we flush out of the home is quite important to us because of the tree roots around our home clogging the sewer system. Due to this reason the kind of toilet paper we use is a concern to us.

Recently, with our #BathroomReno project we were shopping and looking to choose a toilet that is eco-friendly. We went with the option to have a low flow, dual flush toilet that saves water and money.

We invested in the Cadet 3 dual flush, high performance water saving toilet that uses 1.6 gallons for solids and 1.0 gallons for liquids. There are other benefits that attracted us to this toilet such as the slow closing toilet seat with the Everclean surface that will not inhibit growth of stain or odour causing bacteria and the Powerwash bowl that stays clean.

When my children were younger using toilet paper is sort of a game, and have had them "experimenting" to see what happens when they flush a few times putting as much toilet paper as possible. Thankfully, I think they are out of this need to test it :)

Due to their curiosity, I involved them in our Shake Test experiment to see how MAJESTA e.z flush breaks down in water compared to a leading brand of toilet paper. We placed 5 sheets of toilet tissue paper in each of the bottles, one with the leading brand and the other with MAJESTA e.z flush. Then both my children took turns shaking the bottle and pouring out their content to clear bowls to see which one has dissolved.

We were able to easily pour out the water with the MAJESTA e.z flush compared the water with the leading brand of tissue. This Shake Test proved what will be happening down the drain.

MAJESTA e.z flush came out the bottle easily

Leading brand was clogged in the bottle and we had to force it out of the bottle

These soft MAJESTA e.z flush tissues quickly convinced us the benefits of using it. MAJESTA is made in Canada and they are being environmentally sustainable by planting 3 trees for every tree that is used to make tissue paper. When you buy MAJESTA e.z flush tissues try this experiment for yourself to see how important it is for our sewer what type of toilet paper we are using.

  2. Shows how much toilet paper has evolved. The Cadet 3 came in highly recommended when we were shopping for a toilet as well.

  4. That would be really great for people with septic tanks I would imagine (and small children).

  5. I have a similar newer toilet and at times, the toilet paper doesn't completely flush, although everything else does. I don't usually realize this, until the next time it is used. This might not be a bad option, so not to add to what needs to go down!
