Contest, Two Giveaways and Recipe For Our Favourite Shortbread Cookie Recipe

The holiday season is around the corner, and this is the time of the year when we get passionate about our baking, and sharing the goodies with our loved ones.
Shortbread is one of our favourite cookies. I enjoy making my own and involving my kids when I do this. Having a box full of homemade shortbread cookies during the holidays is a must in our home, so we can serve it to those who visit, as well as take to friends and family.
Sending a box full of home baked goodies with the little ones always makes their grandparents very happy. To celebrate the World Kindness Day on November 13th, we are planning on taking shortbread cookies to our friends.
Here is the recipe so you can make some shortbread cookies at home...

11 tbsp butter
1/3 cup sugar plus sprinkling
1 cup flour
5 tbsp cornstarch

I used salted butter, but the choice is yours. Beat the sugar and butter for about 2 to 3 minutes until it is light and fluffy. Then sift the flour and cornstarch, and add it to the sugar mixture using your hands to make a dough.

Line a 7" springform removable bottom pan with parchment paper. Then place the dough mixture in the pan and press to fill the pan by making the top smooth and even. Score the wedges or squares using a sharp knife. Then prick all over the dough with a fork. Wrap with plastic wrap and chill for an hour.
Bake in a 325F preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes until it is golden and firm. After baking score the shortbread and sprinkle with reserved sugar. Cool completely and cut the pieces.
This shortbread will stay well for about 5 day in an airtight container.
