What Next, Where to Go When and Arm Knitting DK Books

We love books that inspires us to try new things or develop the skills we have. Colourful books with lots of tips and techniques are the ones my family and I lean towards. We had been taking a look at a few interesting DK Canada books during the holidays.
What Next? by Work-life expert Dr. Barbara Moses is a comprehensive, practical handbook on planning your career and finding the work that's right for you, whether you are just starting out on your career path or a veteran worker considering your options.

The book includes the latest trends in the Canadian career marketplace, has an in-depth self-assessment tools with insightful and caring advice, and includes information on résumé writing, self-assessment questionnaires, networking techniques, using social media for self-marketing and branding, virtual interviews, searching and applying for jobs, and practical interview strategies. The book covers practical advice on the nuts and bolts of self-marketing and job hunting.
Where to Go When written by a team of experts combines informative narrative and beautiful photography of more than 130 global destinations. The book has six different vacation themes, something for everyone; Natural World, Unforgettable Journeys, Family Vacations, Luxury and Romance, Activity Breaks, and Festivals and Culture.

I like the simple month-by-month format. Within each month the book highlights different cities  from all over the world. We can browse the book for vacations by time of year and type of vacation. The book has websites we can explore for further information. This book helps us with the research that goes into planning trips. We found this book to inspire travel and create that excitement and anticipation that comes with travelling.
Arm Knitting has 30 quick and easy step-by-step projects that uses the needle-free trend in knitting: arm knitting. It's fast, easy, and fun. We are looking forward to use jumbo yarn such Wow wool and try few of the projects from the selection of 30 step-by-step projects in the book. The projects include head-to-toe wearables, accessories including bags and baskets, and items for the home using the same stitches and many of the same techniques as in regular knitting. The big stitches and chunky yarns allow for much more rapid results.

I like the photographs in the book, as it inspires us to try the projects. The book is detailed and gives information from choosing yarn to weaving in ends to sewing pieces together, Arm Knitting guides us every step of the way. Perfect for those who don't know how to knit but want to learn this popular needle-free technique, which will give you beautiful results in hardly any time at all.
