Handmade Felt Heart

This is an easy, fun to do project with children that can sew or want to learn how to sew. This filled, felt heart shape would make a cute, handmade gift to give to our loved ones. It can be attached on our bags or onto gifts that we give our family and friends.

For this craft, you will need
small piece of felt
paper
pencil
scissor
pins
polyester filling or cotton
thread, I used embroidery thread
needle

Draw a heart shape on a piece of paper. Then place the paper on top of the felt and cut out two of the same heart shapes. Attach the two cut out felt hearts with a pin, so it would not move when you stitch around it.
If you don't want to turn the heart shape inside out to place the filling, then blanket stitch all around and keep a small space to put the filling. I put the filling in, then closed up the heart by continuing the blanket stitch. To add a contrast and decor use a different colour thread from the felt.

  1. These look really fun to make! I'm not very crafty but I think I could make these with my nieces and I'm going to try. Thanks!
