Attracting birds to our garden with Squirrel Buster Plus Bird feeder

Squirrel Buster Plus Bird feeder
Over the past few years, we have updated our garden to encourage pollinators such as bees and butterflies to visit by choosing plants and flowers that attract them. We also made structures where they can build their homes, and created water features like bird baths. We also have a pond area which the birds love coming to take a bath and to quench their thirst or to sit by the rocks and sun bathe.

Since we love encouraging wild animals and insects to come to our garden, we have also invested in a variety of bird feeders which haven't lasted very well over the years because they crack or the racoons and squirrels damage it or the seeds fall too quick to the ground discouraging us from filling it up.

When we saw the Squirrel Buster Plus we got very excited because one of our main problems - squirrels - are going to be discouraged from invading the bird feeder!

The Squirrel Buster Plus has a lifetime factory warranty and it is built to resist squirrels, corrosion, and UV degradation. It is made with UV-stabilized ABS and polycarbonate resins, and has rust-proof powder coated aluminum and stainless steel components. If any part accidentally breaks we can contact the factory at www.bromebirdcare.com.

We really like how it guarantees to keep the squirrels and large birds like Grackles, Starlings, and Doves out of the feeder because the openings in the bottom section of the feeder or shroud that align with seed ports are designed to close automatically depending on weight. See the below picture closely, and you will notice when we slightly touch the perch the holes in which the seeds come close. It is amazing how light weight the small attractive birds are.

When the shroud closes the seed ports due to the weight of the squirrels and large birds it does not harm them in any way. Since these large birds also feed from the ground they can always clean up after the small birds that drop seeds.

This feeder can hold up to about 5 lbs of feed and has a patented Seed Ventilation System which circulates air through the seeds keeping it dry. We have been going through the bird seeds quite fast as a variety of birds have been visiting. Fresh seeds attract more birds! We like that the feeder can be easily cleaned with water to maintain a safe and healthy feeder.
Updated: It was recommended for us to fill our feeder with black oil sunflower seeds or hulled sunflowers to attract even more birds that would benefit them during breeding season.

The Cardinal Ring System in the feeder is designed to attract Cardinals which have big feet, short necks and are known to be birds that enjoy facing the seeds when feeding.

The thick perches and textured surfaces provide the secure and comfortable grip that birds want, which attracts a number of birds such as Red-breasted Nuthatch, Chickadee, American Goldfinch, Common Redpoll, Pine Siskin, Dark-eyed Junco, Tufted Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatch, House Finch, Purple Finch, Sparrow, Downy Woodpecker, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Evening Grosbeak, Northern Cardinal, and Blue Jay. We have seen different types of birds enjoying the seeds in the past few weeks, but haven't been able to capture the images of the all the different types of shy birds. The squirrels seem to pick up the seeds that are on the ground.

We attached the feeder to a one inch diameter pole with the pole adapter a little bit away from fences and roofs to attract birds. Squirrel Buster Plus is a wonderful way to invite wild birds to our gardens.

Brome Bird Care designs, manufactures, and guarantees to attract birds with their selection of different bird feeders which can be purchased at a variety of stores in the USA and Canada or online where shipping for orders over $50 is free.
