Imagining and Discovering With The Imaginext Rescue City Center

I am sure all parents just like me enjoy watching their little ones imitate, imagine and play. It puts a smile on our face when our children are playing and we hear positive interactions such as helping or caring about others. When my children play, I hear them imagining to be superheroes and firefighters to save the day, or caring about other people as doctors, or being a person in the community like a cashier.
Since both my children enjoy role-playing, I often overhear them and see them imitating my husband, their friends, teachers, family members, other people they meet and me.
I often join in their fun and world of imagination. Recently, I was invited by my son to act as several clients that come to the library. He wanted to be the librarian and check out books for me, so he started telling me that I am customer 1, now I am customer 2 and so forth. Each time, I had to either check out a couple of books or more, while he made sounds of the scanner and got the books ready for me to sign out.

When I think back about my children's adventure, I notice a pattern on how they select their locations, themes and characters. I notice that their settings, characters and themes relate to the things that happen to them during the day or week such as going to the library, shopping or doctors. When my children play, I see my daughter arranging our family room to a classroom and my son turning the basement into a construction zone.
The Imaginext toy by Fisher-price is a toy that inspires and empowers our children's imagination and helps them build confidence, solve problems and discover. These toys recommended for children age 3 to 8 years is based on Ed Venture and his friends such as Ed as Dino warrior, Ed as fireman and Ed as a knight.
My daughter and son got to play with the Imaginext Rescue City Centre. The toy builds curiosity and discovery, as they learn about the things that happen in the community during an emergency. This Rescue City Center is keeping them busy, and is opening up lots of conversations and imaginative dialogues between them. They were imitating sounds of emergency vehicles and trying to put out a fire and doing so many things at the same time. I saw them adding other toys that belonged to them into the scene i.e. cat, police officer and more, which added to their story lines.
This Rescue City Center Features a gas station with gas pump, currency exchange with figure disk activation that opens the vault in the back or drop down a gate blocking the front door. It has a hotel with a jewelry store on the first floor, fire station, police station and hospital. At the police station there is a jail door that operates when the disk is turned. There is another turn disk that pops up a piece to show as though the hotel is on flames. The fire truck can put out the fire with the two water projectiles. The hospital has an elevator, lobby, operation table and an X-Ray machine.
When we turn a disk that is close to the fire station it pop opens the front door of the fire station and activates the responding ActionTech technology. This ActionTech technology is also built into the fire truck. There are about five different responses with speech and sounds, watch the above video to listen to some of the responses. The toy comes with two figures and accessories such as parking meter, streetlights and more. I like that the toy is not heavy and children can move the cityscape around any way they want. This toy opens up conversations and makes them think about real life situations.

  17. I am a huge huge fan of my children playing and using their imaginations! I let them watch tv and play on the computer just like other kids but I try to limit it as much as I can. They like to set up little towns with their barns and castles and all the little people. I love watching them play together, and they fight a lot less when there is no tv or video games involved!
