Detailed Papercut Lantern

I was inspired by the Paper Craft DK book to do this detailed papercut lantern project. This book has 50 fun and exciting projects that involves card making, gift wrapping, scrapbooking, and beautiful paper flowers. I love that the book includes templates that we can use to recreate the projects. I used the template for lanterns from this book, and scanned it on my Brother ScanNCut machine, which cut this intricate lantern design for me within minutes.

I spent a few minutes doing very minimal details and gluing this lantern that looks really beautiful as a centerpiece on a table or any other space in the home as home décor. The colourful pictures, and easy to follow details that are given for each project makes this a fabulous book that every crafter will enjoy.
To do this project I needed...

Brother ScanNCut machine
The template from the Paper Craft book
Cardstock
X-Acto knife
Glue
LED candlelight
Make a photocopy of the template or remove the template from the book and place it on the scanning mat then load it to the machine and press scan. I found placing a photocopy of the template to better, so the template does not get ruined when it sticks to the Brother ScanNCut machine.

Prepare the cardstock paper you want the lantern to be cut on, by placing it on the scanning mat and adjust the cutting tool. Once it scans, darken the image and insert the cardstock paper to cut.
Once it cuts carefully remove the cut cardstock paper out and use the spatula the ScanNCut machine comes with.
I used an X-acto knife to cut some of the details.
Using a metal ruler fold the edges and the bottom flaps of the lantern and glue it.

Once the glue dries, you can place a LED flameless candlelight so the light shines from the inside.
I had lots of fun doing this project. There are many other creative crafts in this book.
