Win Your Own Copy of What Plant Where Encyclopedia

This time of the year, my family and I spend lots of time gardening, shopping for the garden, tending the plants, and weeding to keep our garden a clean and well maintained space. For us gardening is exciting, tiring, and relaxing. We love reading books about gardening, trying a variety of different plants and flowers every year, growing to love some plants more than others, talking about plants, recommending our favourites and our tips to family, friends, and neighbours. Recently, I got a wonderful book from DK that tells all about what plants go where in our garden.
The Canadian Edition of What Plant Where Encyclopedia helps us to easily to know what plants to put where, as it gives us detailed information about different plants we can choose and where it will thrive the best.
The book features more than 3000 plants that are organized by size and situation, as well as thousands of recommendations for Canadian gardeners.
This indispensable handbook recommends plants for every site in the garden from beds, borders and inventive garden designs, stunning plant partners and planting schemes are suggested for dozens of different garden conditions. Every plant suggestion is illustrated with a full colour photograph, and it includes a Canadian hardiness zone map and ratings.
The content is separated into two parts, plant locations and plants for special effects. Then in part one plant locations it is separated by gardens in the sun and shade, and focuses sections separated by soil; clay and sandy, then focuses on specific types of plants such as roses, irises, herbs, dahlias, hostas, leafy greens, and more.
In part two plants for special effects it has plants for garden styles such as contemporary perennial, formal and modern, tropical, Asian-style, cottage, play, and wildlife gardens. Then it focuses on plants for seasonal interest such as spring flowers for containers, ornamental fruits and more. One of the sections explains about plants we can put for colour and scent, and shape and texture. There is section that suggests which plants we can put to helps us eliminate garden problems such as sun baked areas, waterlogged sites, allergy sufferers, and more.
