Inspiring Books for Gardening and Learning to Hairstyle

The books Grow Vegetables in Pots and Grow All You Can Eat in 3 Square Feet are inspiring the decisions we are making this year for our garden. We love gardening, and over the years have learned many things about how to care for a variety of plants, and to landscape. We are expanding our garden space to accommodate more vegetables and trees this year.

Although, gardening season in Toronto is short, it is a memorable and a rewarding one for us. We prefer not to miss it, and enjoy the work that we put in to it. It is fun for our children and us to go out to the garden and check out what is happening. The hard work in the beginning of the season, allows us to relax in the summer and enjoy the bounty from the garden that God provides.

I love the details and pictures in these books. Planting in pots is a wonderful way to grow a variety of vegetables, herbs, and more without worrying about the garden size and style. Planting in pots is a wonderful way to decorate the plot, and add our own unique styles.

There are lots of ideas in these books on how we can use and reuse everyday items such as cereal boxes and big containers. My mom used to put lots of different decorative plants, and vegetables mostly in pots, and I remember how much fun I had going into the garden and picking different fresh vegetables and fruits we used in our meals. I love the creative ideas in these books for small spaces such as using a stepladder to place pots, and also using the ladder to grow plants vertically and horizontally to yield more vegetables, fruits, and herbs.

I have considered some of the ideas from these books, and started some lettuce in pots this year instead of directly placing it in the ground, so it is protected from slugs and snails. I have also used a wooden crate lined with burlap to plant herbs. I am looking forward to share more about our gardening project, as the weather gets warmer.

I love the new collection of Idiot's Guides because they are colourful and easy to follow. I have checked out the Baking book before and love using it. With Mother's day and beautiful weather around the corner, I wanted to check out the Hairstyles book by Kylee Bond. This guide gives ideas on how we can dress up short, medium, and long hair for women and girls. These hairstyles would look stunning for everyday, and for special occasions.
The guide is separated by the length of hair, and there are step-by-step instructions for 50 different hairdos. I love that it explains about different stylish products, tools, aids and how we can add volume, tame the frizz and get shiny hair.

Check out the inspiring collection at the DK's Gardening Boutique and the Colourful Idiot's Guides, which would be wonderful to own or give as gifts.
