Our Journey to the Alaskan Wilderness with Disneynature's Bears

Disneynature's Bears Blu-ray Combo Pack, which released on August 12th takes the whole family on an epic journey to the Alaskan wilderness. We enjoyed watching this heartwarming, spectacular film that showcases a year in the life of a bear family, as two young cubs are taught life's most important lessons. My family and I enjoy watching Disneynature movies, as they give insight into the life of wild animals and allow us to see the world in a different perspective.
Watching these films also gives us a chance to reflect on the choices we make, and learn to care for our environment. For example one of the things we learned from this film is how much a diet with healthy Alaskan salmon is important for bears to survive, and how important it is not to overfish for salmon and caring for the ocean life, as many lives depend on it.

John C. Reilly narrates the 78 minutes of this feature. I think the narration could have been a little more lively and enthusiastic. Bonus features on the Bears Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, and Digital HD include the music video for “Carry On,” featuring Olivia Holt, and four making-of featurettes, including
  • "Welcome To Alaska" tracks the filmmakers as they set forth on an epic journey to film Sky and her cubs out in the wilds of the Alaskan frontier
  • "The Future For The Bears" spotlights a special visit to the film’s production from legendary primatologist and conservationist Jane Goodall
  • "A Guide to Living With Bears" introduces viewers to the guides who instructed the filmmakers on how to work with these magnificent creatures
  • "How Did They Film That?" provides an inside look on some of the extreme filmmaking that went into getting shots high in the mountains and under frigid cold water.
