Puss 'n' Boots or Le Chat botté

Movies are a fun way of learning. My children and we enjoy watching movies together.

I received a dvd copy of "The true story of Puss 'N boots" (2009) by Jérôme Deschamps and Pascal Hérold to review. We had some very different views :)

The story line was good, yes there was something to learn which was accomplishing your dreams no matter who you are.

Unfortunately the animation and voice of some of the characters were not pleasing. The music was annoyingly loud and unnecessary in certain points of the movie. This made the movie feel long and a waste of time.
The king's role in the movie was just to sleep and there wasn't any point. The queen was a little strange and I didn't like her much either.

The princess wasn't royal but she encouraged the boy to tell the truth about who he really was.
My children liked the parts when the princess was singing and dancing and the puss'n boots flying.

Overall, I like reading the story book about Puss'n boots better than "The true story of Puss 'N boots" movie. Looking forward to see Puss in boots by director Chris Miller in November 2011 by Paramount.

  1. I didn't know about this movie, this was one of my favourite stories when I was a child, I am not sure if the version I knew was similar to the 'real' Puss in boots or not, but I like cats, and boots, so there you go :-).
