How To Explore Canada’s Diverse Culinary Background While Travelling

canada
Canada has a diverse culinary background. It doesn't matter which province we visit, there are lots of amazing food to explore! When travelling, my family and I never worry about packing food, as we can easily find food from any cuisine we prefer. And there are plenty of options to choose from.

Here are some ideas to consider if you are planning on travelling to any of the major provinces in Canada. There are lots of good culinary scenes to explore.

Ontario
Toronto is known as one of the most multicultural cities in the world, offering an extensive range of foods from many different cultures and backgrounds. You'll find food from any cuisine you desire!

There are some amazing Asian cuisines including hotpot places that will heat you up during the cold Canadian winters, and trendy noodle bars that are open late into the night. Definitely one of the best provinces to visit if you've got a craving for authentic Asian food. It caters to both low and high budgets, and there is no shortage of foods to sample. During our visit to Leamington we checked out some memorable foodie spots.

Prince Edward Island
If you ever find yourself passing through PEI, then you're going to love the huge emphasis they have on farm-to-table dining. This is because PEI is famous for its thriving agricultural landscape, offering some of the freshest and most delicious natural foods that you can find in the whole country. In addition to the amazing produce here, you'll find plenty of places that serve fresh seafood as well.

British Columbia
If you're visiting British Columbia then there's a good chance that you'll be stopping by in Vancouver for some time. If that's the case, then checkout Granville Island public market food tour for some of the most delicious seafood and baked goods that you'll find in the entire province. Victoria is also another great place to visit if you're looking to dazzle your tastebuds with delicious local cuisines and fine dining experiences.

Quebec
If you’re travelling to Canada then we highly recommend you stay a few days in Montreal or Quebec City for the most amazing (and affordable!) poutine in the entire world. There are also loads of smoked meats and bagels to fill you up, and you’ll find lots of artisanal cheeses to sample as well. No matter if you’ve got fancy tastes or just want to load up on fries and cheese curds, Quebec has an outstanding culinary scene that you don’t want to miss out on!

Canada certainly has one of the world’s most diverse culinary scenes thanks to all of the different cultures and backgrounds that mingle in its cities and provinces. However, Canada is a pretty big place, so it’s understandable if you can’t make it to all of these provinces in a single trip. With that said, we hope that you explore the culinary delights that the country has to offer the next time you visit!
