Win DK findout! books of your choice

dk findout books
We enjoy books that are not only fun to read, but also educational. DK findout! books are an excellent way for children to get interested in topics that will be useful for their common knowledge. We like that DK is introducing topics that children will come across in their curriculum and beyond. The vibrant pictures, simple explanations, and facts make it easy to remember the main points of each topic.

The opening flap on these books have a quiz with the answers on the inside of the cover, it also directs the reader to the pages that explore the topics further. The book starts off with a timeline, that is followed by the content page. We checked out four titles from this series that we have been reading during our leisure. I like that these books direct children to the DK findout! website to explore the topics further.

DK findout! Energy covers a variety of topics related to energy. For example, where it comes from, types of energy, how we use it, and more. Did you know that a bolt of lightning produces enough energy to power a 60-watt light bulb for six months, or that our bodies make energy from the food we eat? It gives details about energy in all its forms, from renewable energy, such as wind turbines, solar panels, and hydroelectric dams to fossil fuels and their impact on our planet.

In this book we get to learn about the cities of Chichén Itzá, Machu Picchu, and Tenochtitlán, learn the pictures of the Mayan language, unearth the history of chocolate, and more. It was exciting to learn more about these civilizations and their contribution to our lives today.

It is interesting to learn about key events that have shaped our world today.

In the DK findout! World War II we can learn the facts and hear from people who lived through the war that shaped the modern world, from the cause of the conflict to the most important battles. From the pre-war rise of Nazi Germany to the start of the war with the invasion of Poland in 1939 to the end of the war 1945 and the Nuremburg Trials, all aspects of the deadliest conflict in human history are covered in detail.

The DK findout! series is aimed for children ages 6 to 9 to become experts on their favourite subjects from dinosaurs to Ancient Rome to computer coding. However, I think it would be a good guide for children older than this age group to get interested in exploring the topics further. Each book focuses on a specific topic and makes learning fun through images, stimulating quizzes, and cutting-edge information. We recommend having these books at home and in school libraries, so children can explore during leisure or use it for school work.
