Summer is an exciting time for everyone in my family because we get to be outside a little more and enjoy the sunshine. Although, being outdoors is fun, it is important that we take precautions and keep ourselves protected from the UV rays. I have been looking for cute sun hats for my children, and was super excited to check out the really cute reversible Flapjack Kids hats, as well as the fabulous women's reversible hat from Luvali Convertibles.
I love these functional hats! The brim of the hat is a good size, as it keeps the sun out of the face. The hats are made with a UPF 50+ material, and has a double layer. The hat is quite thick so it doesn't easily fly off when children are actively playing, but during a hot sunny day without the wind it can feel a little heavy on the head until you get used to it. These reversible hats are also fashionable, making it wonderful to wear during our summer outings and gardening.
We love the embroidered designs and the cute writing on the hats. It is nice to simply reverse the hat and wear it differently depending on our mood and the outfit.
This Women's Buckingham sun hat reverses to a black hat.
I am glad that I get to share a wonderful initiative by a 11 year old Canadian Entrepreneur, Alex, who wants to change the world through fashion and make a difference by helping children in need. Alex along with her mom, Jackie, the Flapjacks founder has designed cool dresses that adapts as the girls grow. The A-line dresses made with a breezy cotton blend can be worn with the pattern side out or the solid side with a flower pocket out. And when the dress becomes short to be worn as a dress, it can be worn as a tunic and then a top.
We can help make a difference to children in need by supporting Alex's partnership with World Vision by purchasing Ivy & Alex dresses. When we buy a blue dress it helps provide clean water, a green dress helps provide nutritious food, a pink dress helps provide a chance for a child to go to school or buy medicine, and the red dress supports local programs in North America. Check out the Indiegogo campaign and show your support for this young entrepreneur to make her dream of helping others come true, and win some perks.
