grundy lake provincial park
We loved our hikes at Grundy Lake Provincial Park because of the beautiful scenic views from every angle! Other than the bothersome flies, we enjoyed the peaceful scenic views, listening to the birds, and the sound of the frogs croaking. Our children loved the cliffs and the adventure of climbing them.

Cook with Local Food this Summer

local food in Ontario
With Local Food Week coming up from June 6-12th, Longo's is on a mission to help us understand exactly which fruits and vegetables are in season during the summer months - so we can enjoy delicious seasonal food. For the past 60 years the Longo's family has maintained a commitment to provide customers with the best fresh and local food possible. I like that local food has gained momentum because of sustainability concerns and consideration for local farmers. See the above infographic they have created to help us cook with local food this summer.

This is a fun, memorable, and most importantly a relaxing educational experience that everyone in my family enjoyed. We loved the atmosphere. Going back in time to learn and experience how the pioneers would have enjoyed the festive season is awesome!

We love going to the Sky Zone Trampoline Park, as it is a fun way for the entire family to jump and play. The fourth Sky Zone location in the GTA has opened at 240 South Blair Street, Whitby. This new 34,500 square foot facility in Whitby includes a gigantic Open Jump Court, two Ultimate Dodgeball courts, a three lane SkySlam basketball court, a four lane Foam Zone and four large party rooms. Sky Zone at Whitby offers a toddler trampoline area, just for the little ones, so they can jump safely with other kids their own size and age.

Make Informative Decisions with the Help of the Geek Squad at Best Buy

As parents, we all do some degree of "helicopter parenting" and hover over our children either because we fear they might get hurt or we can't let go of the idea that they are our babies. While conversing with Rebecca, a parent representative at the Best Buy #PermissionToHover back to school event, we agreed that the degree of how much each parent "hovers" over their children depends on the individual child, the situation, and the parent.

We loved our two-night weekend stay at the Toronto West KOA in Campbellville, Ontario. There are more than 485 Kampgrounds of America (KOA) locations in the U.S.A. and Canada since founder Dave Drum constructed a campground on the banks of Yellowstone River in Billings, Montana in 1962. The campgrounds are conveniently located close to the highways and byways so we can stay overnight and relax during road trips without detouring before proceeding with long journeys.

New Ariel Park at Santa's Village in Muskoka

We had the pleasure of visiting Santa's Village a couple of years ago, and again this summer. This famous and popular tourist destination in Bracebridge is nestled in Muskoka’s Enchanted Forest, halfway between the North Pole and the equator on the 45th parallel, which naturally makes it Santa’s one and only Canadian summer home. The Village celebrated its 60th year this season. There are two theme parks, an aerial park, a day camp, animals, and a family campground, where kids of all ages can visit Santa, enjoy rides, games, and countless other family-friendly activities.

Inspiring Books for Gardening and Learning to Hairstyle

The books Grow Vegetables in Pots and Grow All You Can Eat in 3 Square Feet are inspiring the decisions we are making this year for our garden. We love gardening, and over the years have learned many things about how to care for a variety of plants, and to landscape. We are expanding our garden space to accommodate more vegetables and trees this year.

Be part of Female Empowerment by Opening Your Own Glama Gal Franchise

What better way to celebrate the upcoming International Women's day on March 8th than telling all of you about how you can be part of Female Empowerment. If you believe in being a positive role model and want to be your own boss, then opening your own Glama Gal Franchise would be ideal.

Glama Gal is Canada’s one and only Tween Spa that started in 2006 literally out of Laura and Josie's car where they traveled from home to to home to perform tween spa parties, and later in 2008 they opened their own location to entertain and inspire tweens through unique, safe, and healthy spa services.

Learning to Camp with Ontario Parks

learn to camp
Camping is a fun getaway to do with the family and take a break from life’s stress and pace. My family and I loved experiencing the fun Learn to Camp program hosted by Ontario Parks. We got to know about this program through a community information session that Ontario Parks hosted. We learned everything we need to know about camping without harming the environment. Camping with knowledge encourages us to do this recreational activity more often, and learn to relax in nature and appreciate it more.
