With the rapid growth in technology, it is becoming more easy for us to manage our homes using smart home tech. We find that investing in home tech such as smart bulbs and security cameras does not cost us much, compared to changing prior investments such as garage doors to make it smarter. In order to make it more affordable for folks, Chamberlain has made an universal smartphone garage door controller that we can install to our already existing garage door at a fraction of the cost compared to if we were to change the entire door.

Improving Curb Appeal with Renfrew Blue Fusion
We have a four panel steel door for our main entrance. Although it was already primed when we purchased it, it had never been painted over. Since the door was off colour and looked dull we decided to give it a fresh coat of paint. We decided on using the beautiful green-blue shade of Renfrew Blue Fusion paint for the outer part of our front door to enhance the curb appeal.

Completed Bathroom Renovation #BathroomReno
We have been busy taking on a DIY bathroom project, which has been long, but fun and satisfying. We wanted our bathroom to be functional and fit for everyone in the family, so when we designed it we had a universal design in mind. This allowed us to make the space functional and safe without compromising style and character.

Building our own rolling DIY Door and Organizing with Rev-a-shelf
We love the concept of barn doors, rolling door, and pocket doors because they are neat and trendy! We were so excited that we were able to include a sliding door in our #BathroomReno project. We had a closet outside the washroom, where we keep our linen. To access this closet we needed to come out of the washroom, which was not convenient. When we were planning our renovation, we decided to bring the closet inside the bathroom, which would allow us to have more space and use it functionally.

OXO Essentials In Our Bathroom
Couple of years ago we added a shower stall for a bathroom in our home, and we find having a shower stall is more useful for our family. We built a barrier that gives us the option of being able to fill the shower stall with water. I found this OXO 5" silicone tub stopper allows us to effectively seal the drain to fill the shower stall with water if we want. The suction cup secures the stopper to the floor when we use it. I like that when we are not using the stopper, we can use the suction cup to store it upright.

Fusion Mineral Paint: Dresser Project
We are excited to be using the Fusion Mineral Paint to do a variety of projects! Fusion Mineral Paint is an innovative product that is easy to apply, self-leveling, and requires minimal prep work. We like how the end projects have a durable matte finish that lasts for a long time. There are 24 custom-blended colours that we can choose from, which are rich in colour, depth, and hue. The paint is perfect for any of our home décor projects small or large, inside or out. We chose three colours, Upper Canada green, Fort York red, and Champness blue to do a few projects that we are excited about.

Making a Trellis DIY Project
In spring, we made a v-shaped Trellis for our Clematis. It is cheaper to make a trellis with only a few materials compared to buying one. For this project, I haven't provided exact measurements because you can adjust the length of the wood according to where you want to place the trellis for example in a deep pot or against the fence etc. The measurements also depend on what type of plant you want to use the trellis for such as Clematis, Jasmine etc. Hope the pictures and the instructions below will inspire you to make your own trellis and save some money.

Our Cabinet Transformation Using Rust-Oleum
After transforming the cabinets with Rust-Oleum
We have used Rust-Oleum about three years ago to transform our front porch, and love the results. Due to our trust in their products my husband and I undertook a DIY project during the holidays using the Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformation kit. Using this kit to transform the kitchen cupboards to our preferred colour is less costly compared to changing the entire cupboards or doing messy demolitions. November 3, 2014
This Roll and Stow Will Help Us With All Our Painting Projects
Painting is one of the top do-it-yourself projects in Canada because it is inexpensive to do it ourselves. Taking on this project is fairly easy, and fun. I feel every time we do our own painting it also gives us a sense of accomplishment when the project is complete. However, every paint project comes with challenges including paint spills, the inconvenience of temporarily packing up paint supplies when we cannot finish a project in a single day and keeping paint tools organized and neat in a single storage place between paint jobs. This new Canadian made Roll and Stow solves all these problems.

Adding Lahara Touch2O Technology Faucet To Our Bathroom
You may already know about our DIY #BathroomReno project, we started a couple of months ago. I am glad our hard work during some evenings and weekends are paying off and the project is coming together to reflect our vision. With so many options available in today's market, my husband and I planned to invest and make our bathroom modern and eco-friendly.

How to Stitch A Rectangle Cushion Cover For A Bedroom Sofa Chair
It is very hard to find matching cushion covers and curtains, so I decided to make my own cushion cover to compliment the curtains in our bedroom. This unique, easy to do project is fun and will complete the decor of the room. If you have all the cloth, buttons and matching thread already at home this project would cost zero dollars.

Planning Our #BathroomReno DIY Project
As our family grows and children are becoming bigger, it is easier for us to do upgrades and renovations to fit the needs and comfort of our growing families rather than moving. During fall many of you like us, plan on doing indoor renovations and look for helpful information. Doing the renovations ourself is lots of fun, as it gives us the comfort of using any product we like and saves us a lot of money.
