Paper Crafts: Paper Folding and Origami Fun Kit

origami
Origami is a fun craft to do when you have instructions that are easy to follow. It is less frustrating for beginners when the instructions are simple, clear, and build on the skills. We found the Origami Fun Kit for Beginners is a wonderful starter kit priced at $18, which has three books to make origami animals, birds and easy designs.

This kit includes traditional origami paper in vibrant colours, rainbow sheets, and metallic sheets. There are 55 projects that are fun to do following the step-by-step instructions to build the model.

The diagrams follow the internationally approved Randlett-Yoshizawa style that is easy to follow once we learn the basic folds. We found this kit to be motivating and fun to follow, as it made it easy for everyone in the family to give a hand at folding origami shapes. We think that origami is an art that teaches patience and discipline as we learn to follow instructions.

Paper Capers A First Book of Paper Folding Fun is a book with simple and fun ideas that will inspire children to the art of paper folding. There are fun ideas such as making a bookmark that can be placed in the corner of a page, or making lanterns, and other fun projects. The book has thick, bright coloured paper that we can remove to make the folds and try the different project ideas.

Animal Origami by Joost Langeveld is another wonderful kit that comes with 100 sheets and teaches 20 origami projects. This kit is for those who are able to do the basic folds. We like the vibrant choice of origami paper that is included in this kit.

  3. I knew someone that was really good at origami but just gave it up and never went back. I still try to get that person to go back and keep at it.
