Carefree Camping at the KOA Deluxe Cabin

We loved our two-night weekend stay at the Toronto West KOA in Campbellville, Ontario. There are more than 485 Kampgrounds of America (KOA) locations in the U.S.A. and Canada since founder Dave Drum constructed a campground on the banks of Yellowstone River in Billings, Montana in 1962. The campgrounds are conveniently located close to the highways and byways so we can stay overnight and relax during road trips without detouring before proceeding with long journeys.
KOA campgrounds are a wonderful way to enjoy and explore a new area and do lots of activities or have a carefree outdoor vacation. By staying at the Toronto West KOA, my family and I were able to explore the Crawford lake conservation area in Campbellville. KOA campgrounds have three types of accommodations: Cabins and Deluxe Cabins, Tent sites, and RV sites.
Since we wanted to explore the Halton Hills region, we chose to stay at the Toronto West KOA. The free KOA app helped us with our decision, as it has a campground finder, integrated online navigation system and driving directions, up-to-date special offers, alert systems to inform campers about road closures, storms, and emergencies.
This year, Toronto West KOA Campgrounds placed over 20 new Deluxe Cabins with four different floor plans we can choose from. The 2 bedroom cabins with single/ bunk beds, and queen beds can accommodate 4 to 6 people. When staying in these furnished deluxe cabins linens are provided, the kitchen has all the tools and pans you would need, a microwave, fridge, kettle, built-in two burner hot plate stove, air conditioning and heating, full bathroom facilities, a patio set with a barbecue, campfire pit, a place to park the vehicle in front of the cabin, and everything you can think of, so we can unwind and relax.
I found the eco-friendly wooden cottage/ cabin feel cozy and homely, and convenient than if we were to stay in a hotel. Having a clean space is very important to me. I am glad they had a broom, dishwashing soap, towels etc. I was happy that we were able to choose a pet-free, smoke-free, and carpet-free cabin.
Take a tour inside their Chilliwack pet-free Cabin by watching our video.
The facilities at their Deluxe Cabin makes it a fun getaway, and a wonderful way to explore a new area and the exciting outdoor adventures without having to take our camping gear. During this glamping trip, all we needed to pack was a few food items and clothing.
I found their camping store really useful and convenient because they had lots of supplies and food items like milk that we might need.
We loved participating in a variety of Campground Activities. During the summer camping season Toronto West KOA provides activities that are geared to families with young children. My children being big fans of collecting fossils, stones, and gems, loved the mining adventure.
We participated in the outdoor movie night that was on a big screen, playing games like treasure hunt, the bouncy castle, sports in the arcade room, and doing arts and crafts. They also have Sunday morning pancake breakfast to fundraise for Care Camps.
Our experience was surely made memorable and fun because of the dedicated group of friendly staff at KOA. Their positive respectful manner and passion about camping and hospitality surely makes it an inviting space to be.
I think camping is a great way to escape the stress of everyday life. I am glad that there are lots of camping options to suite each person's preference making the outdoor experience fun. Since camping is not a one-size-fits-all travel experience Kampgrounds of America has evolved their approach to outdoor hospitality over 50 years by stressing what’s behind their yellow sign to ensure camper expectations are consistently met.

KOA has a Value Kard Reward program that allows members to get exclusive offers, and 10% discount on daily registration fees and earn points each time they stay at a KOA campground, which can be redeemed for rewards and savings at any KOA. KOA has community programs like Care Camps, Scout Programs, Kamp Green, and Work Kamper. Visit KOA.com for details.
Since we had an awesome time at the Toronto West KOA campgrounds, we will be looking into staying at year-round KOA locations during our road trips and vacations in North America.

  2. I love that they have laundry facilities. It saves packing room when you don't have to pack enough clothing for the whole trip. My kids always want to do crafts while camping (because they find cool nature bits that inspire their crafty side) so they would love joining in the craft activities.
