Earth Related Eye-Opening Programs on Netflix

Earth Month is the perfect time to reflect, appreciate, and educate our selves on all that our planet offers. My family and I like watching documentaries together because it’s a great way to start important conversations. The above is a picture of a diorama my daughter made using recycled materials to show how Sri Lankan elephants are being impacted due to deforestation. The project was completed under candlelight when we were observing earth hour last weekend.
Some suggestions of shows that the family can watch and learn from:

Chasing Ice: Environmental photographer James Balog deploys time-lapse cameras to capture a multiyear record of the world's changing glaciers.
Addicted to Plastic: Focusing on manufacturing, environmental effects and solutions, a documentarian journeys around the world to trace the life cycle of plastic.
Documentaries about eating healthy to educate ourself about what happens from farm-to-fork.
Young children will enjoy shows with favourite characters, like Diego in the Go Diego Go episode “Rescue of Red-Eyed Tree Frogs,” or Elmo in the Sesame Street episode “The Camouflage Challenge.”
Learning something new will make all of us appreciate all the wonderful things earth generously offers us everyday.

Special news for Turbo Fast fans there will be five new episodes of “Turbo: FAST” on Friday, April 4th at 12:00 AM PT only on Netflix.

  9. The more I hear about Netflix, the more I believe I should switch over. It's much cheaper than satellite and cable. I think I would get more out of Netflix. Right now I have 600 channels of nothing, and the subscriptions are crazy in price.

    1. Debbie for us Netflix is perfect we can watch the shows and movies we want when we want for a reasonable price instead of having a lots of channels that we don't watch and waste time switching channels than watching one :)

  11. We've been tempted to order Netflix done a lot of talking about it. I guess we should really do it but I'm kind of hesitant right now with the nice weather approaching. We don't spend much time inside, at least the girls don't... not sure it would be worth just yet so I guess I'm kind of still on the fence about it.

  13. Have used Netflix years ago and it wasn't that great. I'm guessing it's improved now and something we need to check out again!
