Styling our Hair

Having the same hairstyle everyday can get boring, so it is fun to change it up with lots of fun hairstyles. My daughter and I enjoyed doing a few of the hair-dos following the instructions in this Braid, Buns, and Twists book by Christina Butcher. The styles in the book are separated into ponytails, braids, bouffants, and buns knots and twists.

There are 82 hairstyling ideas for medium to long hair such as waterfall twist braid, fishtail braided bun and many more. The resources chapter in the end of the book explains about hairstyling tools, and gives details about schools for further education in hair styling.

I like that the book gives step-by-step tutorial and written instructions, with clear photographs of the end results. Each style has a difficulty rating, and has tips and ideas so we can vary the style and use different accessories. This is a wonderful book to have for those who enjoy styling their hair.

Conair Minipro You Style 2-in-1 Straightener and Curling Ceramic Styler is a useful item to have at home and when we travel. I like the convenience of having both the straightener and curler in one. The styler comes with a heat-resistant pouch that is useful to store and take with us when we travel. This styler allows us to straighten our hair with its flat iron, and allows us to add curls or waves with its curved edge.

I like that when I used the curler, it quickly gave body and volume to my hair. This product did not have very clear instructions, so I watched the Conair commercial on YouTube before using. This styler with ceramic technology heats up in 30 seconds and gets hot really fast, so before using it read the instructions well and don't let the iron touch your head. I think stylers and products used on hair should only be used once in a while since using products like this often can damage the hair in the long run.
